Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a fitting session cost?
Nothing. The cost of the fitting session is included in the price of the golf clubs. I fit on an outside driving range, and if you don’t feel you hit my clubs significantly better than the clubs you’re currently using, there’s no charge for my time.

Does the average player really need to be fit?
The average player actually benefits the most from being fit. Because most players have a limited amount of time they can devote to golf, it’s a big help for them to play with the clubs that are easiest for them to use.

Do you fit seniors and ladies?
All the time. Players with slower swing speeds generally play much better with very lightweight shafts and very low center of gravity clubheads. These players often achieve better results through replacing most of their irons with hybrids and high-lofted fairway metals. That’s because they tend to strike the ball with a weak sweeping motion, as opposed to a strong descending blow.

How do custom fit golf clubs help you score lower?
When you have golf clubs that are easier for you to use, golf becomes less of a struggle. When you don’t have to struggle with your equipment, you can devote more attention to the critical areas of shot selection, setup position, and swing focus. That change in attention can lead to significantly lower scores

How long does a fitting session take?
The initial session normally takes a little over an hour. A putter fit takes about ½ hour.

How much do your clubs cost?
Because I have very low overhead, my prices are very reasonable. I offer a wide variety of quality clubheads, shafts and grips. The price of the completed club is dependant on the combination of components the customer selects.

For the average golfer, there is really no need to spend over $300.00 for a full set of quality custom built irons. A set that would last them for a lifetime.

I also don’t believe the average golfer needs to spend over $70.00 for a hybrid, $90.00 for a fairway metal, or $150.00 for a quality titanium driver.

Because I also work with professionals and low handicap amateurs, I also build golf clubs that are far more expensive. These clubs, however, would be of no benefit to the average player.

How long does it take for you to build a set of golf clubs?
The clubs are generally delivered within a week after the order is placed.

What type of warranty do your golf clubs have?
My golf clubs have a lifetime warranty against breakage under normal use. The grips, of course, on all golf clubs should be periodically replaced.

How often do I need to replace my grips?
It depends on how often you play, your grip pressure, and the type of grips you have. As a general rule, avid golfers should consider replacing their grips about once a year.

Does it cost more to have grips custom sized to fit my hands?
No. I’ll measure your hand and build your grips to a comfortable size for no extra charge.

What’s the difference between the golf clubs you sell and name-brand clubs?
From a playability standpoint there’s no difference at all. Nowadays the brand-name is irrelevant. The magic lies in the fit. Tom Wishon, who designed most of the components I use, has custom fit and hand built golf clubs that have been used to win on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, and in Ryder Cup competition. His clubs are as good as you can buy,

Do you sell golf clubs through the mail?
Yes. If you CONTACT ME, I’ll quote the price. If you don’t know your specifications, I can help. There is no charge for shipping or handling.

How do you fit a putter?
Through adjusting the shaft length, lie angle and loft, I can create a putter with specifications that compliment your setup position and stroke. Then, through adjusting the grip size, I can provide a putter that feels good in your hands.

Can I have my current clubs custom fit for me?
It’s possible, but I can’t guarantee it because I’m limited to how much I can alter the specification of your clubheads. I’d have to measure your set and take you through a fitting session.
